I’m a huge fan of inspiration boards as they keep me focused for each one I do for a given project. I use them when I am designing so they become a hybrid of mood/inspiration boards and each year, when I’m styling my clients/project and I come up with a board that focuses on things that I want for the year whether it involves things in my domestic/personal life, my career and beyond. Usually, I place them on a board; however, this year I decided to do it online something that I could click back and forth to in order to check my progress or to keep me on track. There are a number of “grid programs” where you can upload your picture, decide the columns and rows and voila - it’s done! The years leading up to 2013 have been eye opening, challenging and learning experiences to have me prepped and ready for the amazingness of what this year will bring!

My new obsession started from NYFW SS12 runways! I am not known to embrace bright colors traditionally, but I am already thinking of overhauling my closet to be sure! Tangerine/Clementine/Coral = huge for spring (loved seeing it at the Lela Rose shows and so many others this past Sept)! Loving Jaffa by Butter London and EOS! I even forecasted this hue when I created my Spring 12 collab line with Sebago and have this hue popping into a few of my designs which is exciting. Now I’m seeing this color everywhere and thinking of all the ways I want to place it into my wardrobe this spring as well as popping it in my decor!

Kimmie Smith x Sebago Spring 12 Lookbook

Open publication - Free publishing - More collections

As promised, this is the Kimmie Smith x Sebago Spring 12 Lookbook that I just shot this past weekend! There is something about designing an entire collection and then planning the shoot that is around it as well. It’s amazing that in the midst of today’s craptastic weather that we had phenom weather when we shot at Ink 48! We have a fun clickable, flippable lookbook where you can see the styles in my collection and learn about my inspirations too!

As many of you know I have always designed pieces here and there to include in people’s shoots as well as to rock around town in! For my upcoming Kimmie Smith x Sebago Spring 12 shoot coming up in a few days, I am including fab pieces of my own design into the shoot as it’ll be perfect to wear along with Qi New York and Ainsley which will be worn. More deets to come but you can expect to see these pieces wrapped as lariats or as chunky bracelets - as I believe that the person wearing them should be able to choose how they wish to have them look!
